Ok I have looked at the manual and well to be honest as usual it does not do a good job of explaning what I need to know. Now I have created a path from the 2d draw plane to make a 3d object. What I want to know is if I can take that 2d draw plane path to use it as a macro sweep path?

Select the curve you want to turn into a macrosweep.
Select the 'Curve to Path' Tool. (Right Click it first to set options)
Select the curve again to convert the curve to a path.
Save the new path in the Path Library
Select, then Point edit your polygon object.
Select the new path from the Library, then click Macrosweep icon.
