I'm not sure but does this have anythig to do with UV mapping?

All,

I've placed an a zip file of the model that I am having trouble with at the following url.

http://www.mjrossi.com/soldier_zip.html

For some reason I can not get the image map to show in TS or when I export it as a 3DS file. I need add bones and configure the model in several positions and export it as a 3ds file to pull into Swift3d.

Can any tell me step by step on how to make the texture map show, because all I see is a gray/blue model in TS or when I export it.

Thank you,

Clancy

Your question is how you can see the Texture of that model inside Truespace??

If that is your problem you must click on the material editor, on the color shader set Texture map. search your USRANGERUC.bmp and using the "paint over exiting material" tool attach to your Model..

OR....

I dont understand your problem ehehhe (im not a native speeker) :D

Export to 3DS may well not contain the UV / Texture information. The best format to export from tS and preserve texture info is OBJ.

This may well be why you are not seeing the texture on the export, not sure.

Some screengrabs would help so we can see when you are having problems. Eg do you have an all grey model in tS or similar?

HTH!

That is a nice model. Are you using trueSpace 7.11? If so are you using the LUUV plugin to import this object into Model? If so then what Prodigy explains will do the trick. Here is what it looks like in the real time D3D View/Player with one layer of SDS.

Thank you all very much.

In the interim I found the LUUV plugin.

My next dilemma is dealing with the bones. The skeleton that I created did not work to well and I could not get the soldier in a sitting position to show him working on a computer, or holding a cell phone, pointing, or holding a map.

Next I tried pulling a skeleton from one of the samples files that came with TS, however every time I got done adjusting it to the soldier's figure and hit the pointer tool or attach to figure tool it would deform it's self.

Does anyone have a suggestion on how I might quickly pick this up to finish this project and keep my job?

Thanks again,

Mark
