wasnt quite sure where to post this, but, I am an owner of TS7, however I need TS6 for making models for an Activeworlds universe, wihout having to explain what that is, simply put, the COB's that TS7 create are much bigger than TS6 Cobs and also dont work very well on the AW platform.

Is it possible to get the older version or must I pay for it?

Hi,

You can save to COB in different formats - you can choose tS6 COB from the list for instance. This will remove any extra data and should make it the same size as that saved from tS6.6 itself.

Turning the Bridge Off may also help if you are finding size differences, or you can even try tS5 COB too. These solutions should save you from having to purchase tS6 or use the program at all :)

HTH!

Tom

Click in workspace while the stack view is open and you should see player settings. One of these should say bridge-auto/on/off.

That is the best I can remember from so long ago...:p

Splinters... is "Player" ;)

Yup.. that happend because.. who knows...
But my sugest is Save as 6.6 format.. you will see a big diference..
and that works to fix some glue problems from 7.11 too

5780

Here is a screenshoot on where you can turn off the bridge.. but im not sure turning off the bridge make a diference on the file size..

Best Regards!°

By the way this Tab is inside the "preferences" and if you dont see it.. is because you may close.. to reopen i recomend click on the Defaut Layouts to restore it... then click again on the preferences and voila!

Have you tried saving it from the 'Model' side into the tS6 library? (one of the two 'armchair' buttons on the left hand side) That'll save the .cob version into your library which you can then just copy from Windows Explorer?

Witch is right. Go to model side then do a File - Save Object. In the save dialogue there is a pull down menu for what type of object to save as. You can save it out as tS4 in ASCII format if you really want.

Note that saving as older tS type objects may not always work if the object uses some tool that was not available in the previous version.

Could you explain what is wrong with tS7 cob export for AW engine ?
Is it just a file size or do you encounter other problems, like texture or UV projection issues ?
I think I could help.

All the Modeler issues I have seen in tS7.1 -and I admit some of them forced me to return to tS6.6- have been fixed in 7.5. But your feedback is important. Please let me know. You can send me a PM if you wish.
