Even if it is not necessary, it is certainly adviseable to do a backup (as with any upgrade). |

I agree with bigbigblue, it is always best to back things up before upgrading any software. It's certainly better to be safe then sorry. |

is it definatly an upgrade? or a clean reinstall? I would rather a clean reinstall, because replacing files and such is bad news, leaves mess and isnt effecient |

Tom already confirmed, there is just too much change to be patched. It will be a full install...Just backup your important files. |

or have all your graphics thingies in one separate directory, that way you don't have to care when new updates comes, just install and start loading saving from this directory.
However as allways do backup every now and then off all you photos music art and documents you keep since something will crash just a matter when and how...

Now, where are those 3.5" floppies...
Yep, like Ambrose said..I use an external HD...most of us "probably" do. and then I back it up with DVD-RW's('bout every 6months). |

From what I've seen TS7.5 will load files from your old libraries (even "lost" ones ;) if you can find the files on your HD that is) but just to be safe I'd save all your important stuff out as COB, SCN, and OBJ files.
Best of luck everyone with the upgrade! If you got 7.11 and are still sitting on the fence, get that upgrade done. There's no sense in torturing yourself. When they pushed back the release date and the beta expired, I found that I'd rather wait the week than go back to using 7.11 -- it's that much of an improvement!
