Are the workspace icons supposed to been seen in the model view as well? I seem to have one workspace toolbar that will turn itself off when in model view and back on when in workspace (which is what I'd expect) but the rest seem to stay permanently on! So when I'm in model view I have double tools bars cluttering up the screen and blocking the model view icons???? |

Some toolbars have icons that are not specific to the Workspace or Model view, so yes, they have to remain on screen.
Having a customisable interface complicates things too - users can create toolbars that have any old icon in - even icons that are specific to Workspace or Model in the same toolbar. You'd get upset if the toolbar turned itself off when needed! |

I agree with Bobbins since you can have Workspace and Model windows open at the same time it's important to have the workspace icons available. The one set you show is normally docked inside each particular Workspace window -- unless you undocked it...though. Edit: whupps that one isn't showing in model side so no probs there ;-) but the other one should be down over the status bar where it doesn't get in the way. /Edit The other one is normally at the bottom right hand side. Are you using the default or a custom layout?

Personnally, I have :
1. moved the Main toolbar (the one with the libraries, shared space, etc...) on top of the stack view to make it accessible when I work in Modeler and invisible when Stack View is minimized,
2. moved all icons on the large Workspace toolbar (the one with XYZ) into the small one, so they are only present on Workspace window,
This way, if I minimize the stack view, and minimize or reduce the size of the Status Line, I can get a full screen Modeler with just Modeler icons :) |

I minimised all workspace toolbars (dbl click on left hand of toolbar) switched to model side and saved layout as trueSpace6.6.
I then set up workspace just as I wanted it and saved to trueSpace 7.5 layout.
Now I never use the Model/Workspace tabs-just switch between those two layouts and each side is just as I want it...perfect! |

Good advice Emmanual! That sounds like exactly what a lot of the 6.6 users will be looking for. It might help others too, if you could provide the layout for download like Splinters did. :)

Ok thanks guys. I'll have a play and see if I can come up with a layout that suits my working style. Just wanted to check that it was meant to be like this :o |

Sorry Viz but my German in not good enough to explain. But splinters way does work very well. Hopefully other German speakers can explain this.
Thanks for that Paul I've now got a layout that I'm quite happy with. The only problem that remains is although I have altered the toolbar (bottommost left, the one with the pointer in) in workspace, when I restarted TS is goes back to its original state and I end up with duplicated icons that have been moved to other toolbars.
Any ideas??? |

MadMouse is okay.
Splinters way is a way but the wrong way.
Tell me why i have a modeler area and a workspace area and when i switch from one to the other i got this problem.
I belive this is a realy big bug from Truespace. |

Maybe you could, as a workaround , install TS 7.5 in another directory again. And then setup the Workspace in one copy. And the Modeler in the other copy. The perfect solution, which also makes it possible to use the same hot keys in modeler and workspace
The toolbarfun was one of the first things i noticed. I think this one needs a fix. Too much are unhappy with the current way ;) |

I am still playing around with the layouts and I have to agree with Vizu. If the workplace icons cannot be used in Model view why do we need to see them???? Splinters way does work but it still looks like a bug to me!!!! |

how ever, so long this problem isn´t fixed, i don´t plan to open 7.5 again.
I need tools from both spaces but it is impossible to me to work with the icons on my modeler site.
Team Caligari ! i count on you and don´t tell em i can go the way with the layout´s this is a bad wrong way.
fix to hide the workspace icons on modeler site |

Vizu, I think you're missing the point. Like Emanuel said you can dock those tool bars to other windows that go away when you maximize Model view if you want.
I'd hardly consider this a bug since I think people would be really upset if they were using a layout like this and their Workspace icons dissapeared:
5890
;)

Hmmmm. Yes I take your point Jack. I hadnt considered multiple window layouts. I suspect Vizu works much like me and tends to have either the model or workspace view open at any one time. |

Maybe the devs could add an options check box and some code that would check for the user maximizing the 3D window while in Model mode and then hide all the Workspace icons?

Nice idea Manuelle.
I have reinstalled Truespace to get a clean workspace.
Now i have disabled the icon wich you show.
Here is the result with the disabled icons.

You could just try moving that toolbar down to nest with the other one (all the way at the bottom where the word 'Model' is on the left.) When I start 7.5, (Model side) both of those toolbars are nested in that spot and are out of the way (for me at least) |

could work but this isn´t the way.
For what we have a Model and a workspace ?
I though caligari will delete the bridge and bring both spaces in one together.
How ever, this is still a BUG in my eyes and Caligari have to fix it. |

Not sure how they could be brought together and, as explained elsewhere, until the workspace has all features of model and the ability to import old files, tSX etc. it will still be needed...:o |

The poly tools are here on this tool bar:
6000
Right click is still the means to enter PE mode and use the poly tools. The icons just stay there all the time instead of appearing and dissapearing. (Unless you turned them off when changing the settings for the visible tool bars...)

The primitives can be selected from the toolbar at the bottom in workSpace.
Or have I missed the point? |
