I'm no expert, but I'll try to help.
From my understanding, you can do this through the Link Editor. To get to the LE quickly from the "default" layout tab, select the "4D" dropdown box on the right hand side of the Anim View window at the bottom of the screen. Change it to "2D." From there, select the bar that has the name of a particular light that you want to hide. When you do, you will see two tabs appear--"Exp" and "Default". Do not select either of these tabs at this time, instead, click on the little tan-colored box to the right. This will change the LE to only show bars of attributes for that object. One of these bars is called "Object Render". Select it. You should see three tabs-- "Exp", "Default", and "Advanced". Select "Exp". in this panel there is a check box for "Invisible". Check it. Now the light will not be seen in the workSpace.
There could be an easier way to do this, or a way that allows you to do all lights at the same time (like the Model side has), but I haven't found it, yet.
Hope this helps you!

Sorry, Tiles.
When I walked through that last experiment, I was doing it on an infinite light. I just tried the same thing on a Spotlight, and its LE boxes are different. :( I cannot seem to find a "Object Render" box for them. Perhaps somebody else has an idea?

Make sure the Workspace window is active and the light is selected. Then select the "Show Object Attributes" button in the stack. This will bring up the Object Attributes panel for that object.

Then select the "Advanced" aspect from the top right corner of the panel.

Here you can select invisible.

This method works for ALL objects in the scene.
Btw, I'm working on transferring all of the light setups from the model side into a library on the Workspace side. They will have a checkbox to hide all of the lights and also change from solid to wire right on the node for quick access. If anybody has a good light setup they would like to share, I'd be happy to include it. :)

Thanks, Dele!
I guess I was on the right track after all. I was just going about it the hard way :) .

Both examples work which do the same thing which is activate Invisible for that paticular light. Be aware that this does not work with Projector Lights though. You will have to adjust the Surface Opacity. Same with Cameras too. |
