I am still a bit stuck with the layout stuff.
What i basically want to do is to have a modeler window with closed TS 7.5 toolbars. And opened toolbars in workspace. But either they are closed in both, the modeler and the workspace. Or open in both, the modeler and workspace.
Then i wanted at least to add a tab at the top so that i can switch between those two layouts then in case i get it managed. But even here i am stuck.
I can save my layout. But the other buttons are left then. And when clicking at my TS 7.5 layout, the two saved layouts are gone. And i have to reload the formerly saved layout to get them back. What am i doing wrong here?

You can only have one folder with layouts at one time.
The original layouts are saved in a folder within the RS Main Libraries.
This folder is named Layouts- Configurations.
You could save your layouts here and all the layouts within that folder will show as Tabs.
You could also setup another folder with just your layouts and only those layouts that are within that folder would show as Tabs.
The Library Browser is great, it is just like Window Explorer with additional features.
Open the Library Browser.
Right click the Main Library Place "Folder" and select Create Library.
In Type select Layout (.rsl).
In Name name your Library "Folder" IE Tile's Awesome Layouts.
Close the Library Browser.
When you have your layout the way you want select the Top left icon an select Save Layout.
Navigate to the Library where you created above and name your layout. IE tS7.5.
Reboot trueSpace.
Select the down arrow next to the Tabs and navigate to the Library you created above and select your layout created above. |

So where does the Config Library fit into all this? ( and why can't I find it in the Library Browser?)
Is this the general procedure for creating any new Library because it seems unnecessarily complicated. I count 8 steps and rebooting tS to do what in 6 is a right-click away. |

Sorry spacekdet it was neccessary to explain everything because Tiles was trying to save to a different folder. Rebooting tS7.5 is only necessary for the Layout Tabs to show. You could also select your saved layout from the Library which will refresh the Tabs. There is other ways to save layouts as well. You could also save to the Stack/Library. Then selecting your saved Layout from the Library refreshes the Tabs. I guess you could say there is more then one way to skin a cat and I choose only one way. Writing and Explaining 3D software is not my Forte. |

You are nevertheless very good at it. Thanks. Got it sorted now with your help :)
I still feel like Spacekdet here. It may be much more flexible, but is honestly a bit complicated for such an easy task. Like so much in TS 7.5 compared to TS 6.6. While TS 7.5 may be the more powerful one, TS 6.6 was definitely the easier trueSpace. I keep my fingers crossed that Caligari will bring back the easy ways in the future now that most of the core tools are there :) |

Hum, nope, i thought i had understand it: But now that i try ... :D
I have solved it now by moving the formerly saved layouts into the Rs Main Libraries\Layouts - Configurations folder. Now they show up and it works as thought :)
Nevertheless curious about your described way. I may need to create a new library in the future :)
Open the Library Browser.
Right click the Main Library Place "Folder" and select Create Library.
No matter where i rightclick i don't get that. Are we talking about the library at the right, inside trueSpace? Where to click here?

I think it is still quite complicated and confusing to handle layouts. Why does tS not automatically point to the default layout folder? The default layout is saved in various folders, so one could easily think any of those are the right folder to save the new layouts. |
