I tried to create a cylinder, but unusually the direction was wrong.

I change the ground type from "XY" to "XZ" and back to "XY" and

then a new created cylinder looks in the right direction.

Is it a feature or a bug?

Is is possible to change the direction of the created objects while creating.

Object creation is magnetic. If you click drag along the face of another object, it aligns the new object to that face.

Could that be what happened?

I'm not able to duplicate that. Can you repeat it?

I can repeat it. With a cone and with a cylinder. I think it may have to do with your angle of view.

What's also wierd is that if I bump my right button while dragging to create a cone, I can also create it upside down.

I'll report it.
