Hi, i found one way to use the Model File formats, load, save, save as on the workspace side..

Its 100% ??? not sure, but im 90% sure that works good!

So how you get the File tool on the workspace??

Easy..

First and IMPORTANT
*YOU MUST HAVE THE BRIDGE IN ON, AND FULL MERGE.

Go to the model Side, hold your control key and click over the File tool and drag to any side...

6232

Now go to the Workspace and load any old scene directly to your Workspace.. That is only Supported in 7.5

Dont know if anybody gonna find interesting but you can bring your *.x files *.obj *.cob *.scn

Me? im very happy with that.. :jumpy:

Here is a screen capture..

In this video i show:

Start new scene (Works)
Load Scn (Works)
Load Cob (Works)
Load EPS Encapsulated PostScript (Works)
Load OBJ (Works)

And allso test

Save Scene as (Works)
Save Object (Works)
Archive (Works)

Dont know maybe is usesfull for those users complaining because they doesn't have the file formats to import on the Workspace.. dont know, i find very very usesfull for my work.. http://forums.caligari.com/tsdesign/images/smilies/redface.gif Just watch the video.

Under tip of the day,

I just found the 'speed' copy/paste function in Workspace - hold LMB on object, hold CNTRL and drag. (Doesn't work in Model)

ps I'm just like a pig in U-know-what, finding all this new functionality :) Yeah, I'm just a newbie :o

As I use 7.5, I keep 'finding' things - I first posted this in another spot, but figured it should be here too

Something else I've found - if you 'close down' the library/panel stack(click the 'x' on upper right) to get more room - right click functions of the different tools opens up small windows in the upper left of my screen. This is useful to me because when I just used the 'slider' windowshade thing, I couldn't see what happens when I right clicked on tools. The small panel windows open one on top of the other - so you have to remember to close them down.

Hope this helps someone,

rf

Hmm, this method has its quirks. Now the file bar didn`t appear at model side anymore nor was it visible in the workspace in my other layouts :D

So there is one step missing to make it work. Reset to default context when you are done with separating the file bar. Then switch to one of your layouts. Without resetting to default context the bar stays lost in the other layouts :)

Hmm, doesn't load a scene in workspace this way. I still need to load it from modeler side. Which makes the file bar in workspace obsolete. Well, was worth a try ...
