Do Lens flares work in VRay? Mine does not seem to work, any help?

I'm not aware of a button or function for creating lens flares if that's what you mean.


You should be able to do transparency mapped planes to fake the effect. For animation though you'd need to write a script to maintain correct position with the camera.


Maybe some one could write a lens flare brick that you can just link up to your camera object's postion and rotation matrix?

No lens flares in VRay. The lens flare settings you find in tS are post process LightWorks effects.

You could always add it in post... render a black frame in lightworks with the flare in it and combine it in photoshop or some such with your Vray render. If it's animation, you could rerender the shot using black materials and BG with lightworks, low res with lens flare (the resolution should not really change the look of the flare), and add this in a package like after effects or any other package that allows you to add elements shot against black (in after effects or photoshop you'd use a transfer mode of either screen or add).


Not the answer you were looking for likely but I thought I'd drop an option in for you.
