Is it possible to alter the colour of a light over time? I've tried key framing this and couldn't get it to work. Although key framing does appear to work for rotation and position it doesn't record the lights intensity, colour etc. At least not by simply hitting the record keyframe button!

Can it be done in 6.6 /modelside or workspace in7.5?

Thanks for that Jack. Short answer - can do in Wokspace(playerside) - can't do in any previous version of tS. Is that right?

I'm pretty sure that 6.6 allows material (and UV) keyframing. But you can't do the proceedural animation thing in 6.6

Ok so it can be done via the LE in workspace. Thats good news for future projects but not immediately helpful to me.

My attempts to do it in 6.6 have all ended in failure - the light emission colour for the whole animation becomes whatever I set the colour to be for the most recenty set keyframe. I've tried this in the materials editor as well with a light emitting object and gotten the same result.

If it can be done in 6.6 could someone suggest where I might be going wrong.

Are you just trying to animate the colour of a light or a material light emission?

In Model view:

If it's the colour of a light it should just be as easy as setting the frame number, setting the colour of a light, pressing record on the animation toolbar, then repeating. If that isn't working, open the Scene Editor, right click the record icon and make sure "LightColor" is checked, though that should only effect auto record operations and not manual recording.

If it's a material light, set up the material, set the frame number, paint the object and press record on the animation toolbar. Then set up the new material properties, set the frame number, use "Paint over existing material" (the paint roller icon in the material editor) and press record on the animation toolbar.

Thanks Bobbins.
