Here it is. The two raptors on their pedestals. Guarding their secrets.
For some reason the pillars got blown away. This was a 6.6 scene, ported to 7.51. Maybe that's why. I just dropped in an entry point.
let me know what you think.
Thanks,
Froo |

Very cool scene.
I noticed one minor thing, you may have already caught it by now, but there's three column footers that are detached from the main columns as separate objects. They are hard to spot except at two specific angles so I snapped a view from those angles to help you locate them.
I really like the mood of this scene a lot.
Are you officially entering this then in the "1st Immersive Environments Competition"?
HINT: If you do there's a lot you could do with scripting "things" in the center of that platform.:D

16 columns is post-modern digital technology. 12 columns would be the number of the Ancient Ones <echo reverb>
Could there be a background image of a valley plain, a moraine below a glacier? Keep the geography contingent happy :)
Very nice work Frootee!

well, that could be. Thanks for the input weaveribm. This was originally intended to be a dark oppressive scene. Gotta go to work... I'll expound more later1

Hi Frootee,
I know you already have plans for this scene although I don't know what those plans are, so maybe this will help and maybe not.:)
I've been looking at this scene in Workspace for a while and I had a few ideas as I looked at it which I wanted to run past you here, that way maybe if one of them appeals to you you might adapt it in some way for your scene, and maybe the other ideas may either help someone with their existing immersive scene development or inspire someone to start a new immersive development scene and join you guys in all this fun.:D
The cool mood of your scene, the steps and the wide open center gave me the following thoughts for interactivity and immersion:
1) An atom-like shape... bright... revolving on all axes (like that bead-shaped item in the shared space meeting room)... which one steps into and proximity then initiates a script which activates a few short (3 paragraph) audio recordings in sequence.... they describe the entire history of this place, it's planet, it's people, it's fate, and at the end hint at the way to escape this room by means of a link carefully hidden within it from their enemies.
2) A "Magic Rings" (ala The Time Machine movie) version of the above.
3) A revolving bright light version of the same, like the ones in the Caligari "Dance Hall" scene in the TS7.51 directory.
4) A revolving 3D shape of some kind, rising through the floor as one approaches the center platform via the steps.
Just a few thoughts. If you want more let me know.
This scene really will be very cool to develop, there's just a huge variety of ways to make it interactive and very fascinating, and as far as making it look good... you're definitely already there.;)
