I noticed that sometimes VRay has a problem sometimes rendering objects with holes in them or illregularly shaped planes. What it looks like it is doing is render the image with the hole(s) covered over or even draw parts of it where there should not be part of the object. Do I have some setting wrong perhaps?

Below are examples with the same scene rendered in LightWorks and VRay to show you what I am talking about.

Using VRay1.5 and tS 7.5

Can you give any object with that problem?

Yes, it would be helpful if you could provide one or more meshes that shows the problem. Email me privately if you have distribution concerns:

Let me look at this more. Now I am having problems with LightWorks with these objects. I seen this before when I import an object then perform an object boolean subtraction using a plane to remove a lot of the cross lines you see on imported objects. But sometimes when I do this I have problems with cut outs and holes like this.

I just tried to replicate your problem and succeeded. I actually added som vertices to square out the holes I made in a plane, and came up with the same problem. The only way I managed to get it back again was to delete the vertices making up one of the holes and then re-punch it.

Looks like an old, old problem with Vray here...the move from workspace to model introduced trianglation to the mesh. I have mentioned this a few times to developers. You want an example you can all try...open the Ducati scene in ts model then move to workspace and see what happens to the brake pads...:o However, it doesn't always happen...strange.

Really hope there is some way around this in a future release...:(
