I like to work as low poly as possible, and have recently found that TS triangulates everything - is there a way to do just quads? (i can select the extra edge and move etc. only in WS, but cannot delete) How can I delete those edges so I can have quads?

Are the DX materials only slated for Vray in WS?

Eventually, when everything is brought over to WS, will Materials be handled only by LE or Script?

When 'split polygons' tool is used, does it 'convert' the already existing invisible (unless you have Show Triangles on ) triangulating edge to one thats editable, or is there a 'double' edge?

This one's not a question - Even when everything is ported over, .cob will still have to be able to imported - 'insert as' should have the .cob option.

Thanks,

rf

Edit: oops, the .cob files have to be imported, but not saved as .cob...I get it :)

DX materials are for workspace realtime rendering...can't be rendered using LW and are nothing to do with Vray...:)

Oops...yeah, I should have been able to figure that out - DX, DX9, Doh!

Do you know anything about the triangulation?

Thanks,

The triangles are there always. It just depends if you have them set to be shown or not as to whether you can see them. Turning off visible triangles will allow you to work with quads as desired. When you right-click an object to enter into PE Mode, the Mesh Editor Settings panel show up in stack view area. This is where you can turn off tris and sds faces (toggle them on/off).
Hope this helps

Yeah, I just did some export testing and found out that they (the tris) can only be seen in WS and don't effect export from Model. Will they be still able to be quads when they can be (eventually) exported from WS/TS X.X ?

I had problems with objects being triangulated when model side was sync'd to workspace but i am not sue if this was fixed.
