I have been having a lot of crash problems with 7.5 in the model view while point editing. So, it was suggested that I switch to workspace instead. My question is - how do you do modeling that requires use of blueprints in workspace. All of the demos in the manual are artsy free form characters. Without the availability of things like layers, it seems like workspace is limited to this type of modeling ... or am I missing something?

slent,

Have you tried using point snapping?

Point snapping is not the issue. The problem is, when I set up three views of a blueprint to use as a guide to model from, I am constantly inadvertantly selecting those guides when I want to select the object I am modelling. In Model view that isn't a problem because I put them on separate layers and then lock the layers. Is there a way to achieve that same result in workspace?

Yes there is a way to lock them in place but they are still selectable.
With your Plane, expand it's Matrix. Right click the Matrix and select Expand as shown.

Thanks Trueblue. That handles half of the problem ... at least I won't accidently move them out of position. Now if I could just lock them so that they couldn't be selected.

Not sure if this works in tS7.5.1 because it was made using tS7.11.
But you could ask stan here:

Thanks again trueBlue. I've downloaded the files and sent an inquiry to Stan. I hope this is the solution.
