After seeing the video files on animation in Chapter 9 of the new 7.51 manual,

I thought I'd be able to easily 'edit in a new track' as is shown in the videos.

I started a new scene, imported 'crazy bob', and keyframed his original position.

I moved the marker to frame 60, re-posed crazy bob, and keyframed again.

Then I moved the marker to 120, re-posed and keyframed again.

Fine so far.....

Now, I want to reverse the part between 60 and 120 AFTER the 120, so I thought .......easy.......do the 'edit in new track', copy the original, lay it in the new track, reverse it and razor it to suit.

I find I CANNOT 'Edit in new track'

nor can I RENAME

nor can I do ANYTHING in the right-click menu of the left side of the Anim view.

What's wrong?

This should be EASY!

Any help will be appreciated.

I've found that there are three different states for the "clips" created. They are differentiated by color coding. "Orange", "green" and "white". I'm not sure what each signifies, but certain options are only available in each.

You can change between orange and green by enabling/disabling "procedural animation" in the right-click menu. I'm not sure which color signifies which though. When you left-click on a clip, it will turn "white", and I believe it is then that you can razor the clip.

Hope this helps! ;)

It seems that I had to uninstall/reinstall 7.51 and then all worked OK

I can now make and re-name new tracks etc... :jumpy:
