I thought I try to create some user library of my textures and HDRs.

Ok, it needed some minutes to load all the resized pictures into the stack.

But when I started the program again it needed some minutes too to fill the stack.

Why does the program not uses indexes, tables or references for all my

files. It seems that it created the whole library again.

Therefore, the performance is to slow.

Is this your experience too?

Sounds like what I am having too.

I do not make texture library's anymore because of this. Large textures (and you do not need many textures in it) will cause loading of the library problems in TS.

Yes, I too have noticed that it is very slow to load the library's. I've even had to run my mouse over the blank areas where items should be to get them to show up.

Is there a way to bring up standard Windows file selectors ala' tS 6.x's right-click on a texture input box?
I'm the same way- the Image B(r)owser is too slow to populate w/ thumbs so it's faster to use Windows to pick textures.
If you are stuck with only using Libraries to access your textures then you have my condolences.

The libraries of TS are a very good idea, but for normal usage (textures, hdrs, bumpmaps) it is

realy to slow. I think there should be still some work to be done to

optimize the performance.

Because of the way TS WS handles and works with textures presently you really do not need to save textures to library's, I think this is going to change in the next version, though I do not know for sure.

You can right click inside the library and than use the import feature to bring up the Windows Explorer file selector. Or you can use the texture node in the LE and just CTRL right mouse to bring up the same Windows Explorer file selector...

Those are the 2 ways that I am aware of, not sure if there are any others.
