Hi!

Don't know if it's my xvga HP 8205's problem or a V-Ray or truespace Render problem, but when I render to file above the screen's resolution (who wouldn't?) the render window's controls are out of sight (beyond the top of the display) - I can "pop" it down by changing the screen resolution, but who wants to reorganize their desktop every time one renders?

Hope someone can help ...

Thanks, Tim

Unfortunately, that's how TrueSpace works and has always worked. If you render an image that is a larger resolution than your monitor, then you won't be able to see the entire image. It's still there, you just can't see it. For example, if you're rendering an image that is 1000x800, and your screen size is 1420x640, you'll be able to see the entire image width-wise (1000), but not height-wise (800) because the image is rendering "off of the screen". I don't know of a way to fix it, other than to change your screen resolution permanently. I hope this is what you were looking for as an answer! Are you a new user of TrueSpace? And what version are you running?

No, this is NOT how truespace has always worked. With Lightworks it always rendered 'in -situ'. If your render size was, say, 4 times your screen resolution, you'd see every fourth line of the render appear on the screen, it certainly wouldn't shunt all the controls off the screen into 'virtual space' to try and make it fit. VRay pops up a new window and if it is doing that (haven't tried it myself) then that's a serious buggy issue which needs to be addressed ASAP as if the render is for professional work like printing in a brochure then the final output size will need to be considerably bigger than the average screen resolution.

OK, I've just fired up tS to test this and I can't replicate the problem exactly. I rendered a basic scene with dimensions larger than my screen ratio and the title bar was at the top of the screen each time rather than beyond it. The window controls (min, max, close, render to file) were off the screen. I'm running a dual screen set up so for me it wasn't an issue but if you're using one screen I can see it being irritating.

So, unfortunately for you, it's not a global problem and I don't know what else to suggest short of contacting tech support, unless anyone else here has encountered it and has discovered a cure. Sorry I can't be of any more help.

I'm trying to understand this one too. There was an issue with rendering a VRay image larger than the display resolution prior to 7.51, but it's already been fixed unless somebody can show otherwise.

tS7.51 with VRay - screen size is 1024x768. Render to file size is 1600x1200. VRay render window fills screen with all window controls visible - window settings/save layout, save to file, minimise, maximise and close. During or after rendering, left click and drag scrolls the render display, mousewheel zooms and right click resets view.
