Hi Folks. I have a question. What do the Fixed and Type parameters in the physical constraints panel in the link editor mean?

Here's a snapshot.

Reason I am asking is, during a simulation I was doing, the constraint line seemed to stretch, like a rubber band, allowing the object to drift downward.

I thought the constraint would act like a rigid pipe, and not stretch. I was trying to get an object to pivot about its center of gravity. This stretching caused it to

look really funny and out of sorts. I increased the time steps, which helped somewhat but not good enough.

I think a better solution would be to add a single joint to the object and make it rotational only.

Thanks,

Gosh, I am sorry this slipped by the manual. I will try and get some info on it and reply back here with info.

Thanks Norm. Hopefully this'll solve the problem.

Actually, I think I only saw this info in the manual. That's where the screen shot came from. I checked my version of ts 7.51 and there are no checkboxes for Fixed, Time, and Type. Hm. Perhaps my mistake.
