I have been exporting an animation out of Truespace in the Collada format (.dae). I am then using Deep Exploration 5 to view the file.

So far I have not been able get a Collada with the animation.

In the manual ( Appendix C: File Formats)

Under the Collada Export instructions -

"Select whole scene (scene node) to export whole scene."

Sounds simple enough. .. how do you select the whole scene? What is (scene node)?

Thanks in advance.

Rich is the expert on Collada exporting so he can probably give you better advice. I'm also certain that Caligari will be very interested in making sure that Collada exports work with other apps as seamlessly as possible.

My understanding of selecting the scene, involves using the link editor (LE) and clicking the orange triangle to go up one level. Then make sure that the scene brick is selected. If you haven't named your scene yet, it will likely be called Space3D.

Let me know if that helps! :)

Thanks for the info.

I tried a bunch of different selections and then decided to check and see if the issue might be the Deep Exploration software itself.

I grabbed a different viewer called Feeling collada viewer. Sure enough it previews the collada file correctly. It now falls to me to get into discussions with the folks over at Right Hemisphere who publish Deep exploration to look at the way they interpret collada files.

Again thanks!
