Hi
I want to transfer workspace bones animation to the model side so I can play with swf toon renderer. The animation plays in model side but doesnt render as an animation. There is no keys in the model side scene editor. Do I have to manually key everything again?
Thanks

I'm having the same problem -- the animation plays, but with no visible keyframes, and no frame count appears in the flash plugin render window, so only the view renders.
Also, V-Ray 1.5 is working OK in Workspace, but now Lightworks doesn't function in Model or Workspace... how do I turn on LightWorks back on for either side after installing V-Ray 1.5?

Stan, thanks, but I've been there. The LightWorks button on the Model side is dead. If I left or right click, nothing happens. The VRay button works on right or left click, but tells me to go back to Workspace to render.
I also changed to LW in the old TS6 Options or Preferences box (I don't remember which right now). No luck.
It doesn't seem to be my file, since I still can't get the LW settings back even if I hit 'Generate new space' or 'Reset to default context.'
Maybe I need to reinstall. I just put VRay 1.5 and Flash plugin over tS7.5.

Now I found it! There are two different (but identically drawn) render screen icons in Model, one on top and one on the side! I was right clicking on the wrong one (on the side). It doesn't seem to do anything. The one on top works, though.
Thanks,

Actually, three of them look about the same -- the VRay icon on the bottom is part of the family!
Not that we don't all absolutely love the new icons. They go a long way in making tS7+ feel like a new and better environment.

Thanks a lot jayr. I wasn't aware of that feature. I was kinda hoping the way it was done was by converting the keys frames to the model side so I could use the flash plugin. I guess that's not possible. Guess I should return the flash plugin. |

3dfrog,
I'm in the same situation with the flash player. If you look at the post by btspro today, you can get your animation to play in Model view if you start it in Workspace. It may then be possible to use the Workspace Anim window to step through your keyframes and record them in the scene editor (which appears to be completely disconnected). I tried hitting record on a few frames as my anim played, and they seemed to be captured in scene editor.
This is a manual workaround (if it works), but it may help you decide not to toss the flash plugin.
HTH.

The scene editor doesnt keyframe the bones so you can't keyframe the bones animation. I don't think there is a way. |

Too bad. I'm just doodling, so it'll be possible for me to make some flash files.
So far, it looks like you can't get there from here with a full-up animation.
I'm going to keep the plugin, but it would be nice if Caligari upgraded it (or Workspace) to allow us to use it on either side. This sounds very complicated, so I won't hold my breath. Also, I won't be happy if I have to buy a new version of the plugin later to get the capability that I expected with this one. |

Try this see if it works for you? Do some animation on the work space side leave the animation running then switch over to the modal side, then hit the record button on the animation bar for the work space side and see if it starts to move. Worked for me. I want to see if it works for someone else. |

what do you mean it starts to move? The record button on the animation bar only records the current keyframe, and it doesnt key workspace bones animation. Unless I am missing something. |

What I mean is it starts to move, when I first switched to model side from Work space side it was not moving in the window then I hit the record button then it started to move. I think it could be a bug or something
Did some more work with the animation from the work space side and the new animation view window and the animation works great leave the animation view running and see if it allows the animation to move to the modal side. Also I used the scene editor and the animation moved to the work space side also. Do you have the bridge on? |
