came across this workaround for the lack of tools to do this in workspace..unless I missed something :confused:

in workspace if you want to extract the final mesh from an sds or mirror modeler object you must go to model side enter edit mode, select a face or edge or vertice, move it slightly, then when you go back to workspace you will have a final mesh ;)

Give the Flatten History command a try. It is designed for this type of stuff.

that icon isn't talked about much in the manual..they should say more about its uses..only talked about in normapmap and lod ..at first I thought it was for flattening the undo history

thanks Steinie..good thread but nothing much in the manual..remember reading that too but it didn't stick in my memory..:p
shouldn't have to find that out by searching the forum..it's too important a tool not to have better documentation about it in the manual
