Ok I have been playing around with the glows tab..and well when I open it up all I see is the lensflare properties and the depth of field properties. I assume there is supposed to be a glow and a bloom one? I know what they say about assuming so I need some help. Is the glow and bloom stuff in Workspace? I looked in there and well I have no clue what I am doing in Workspace at all. Guess I need to poke in there a bit. |

no sorry they're not the right ones (if i understand you right). in workspace go to the settings tab in the stack, the bllom controls should be in there, you have to tick the bloom box and play with a few sliders. |

The panel you mention is a Model side panel, which controls post-processing effects for the Lightworks render engine. The glows there are glows and halos around light sources only, along with lens flare for those lights too. The same panel also controls Lightworks depth of field, and tone mapping.
The blooms and glows for real-time are in the workspace. These appear on the stack on the right in the default set up, whenever you choose the Settings tab and the 3D view is active. You'll also find the anti-aliasing, supersampling, ground, etc settings in there too. These affect only the real-time rendering and give the same effects as used in many popular games like World of Warcraft and Lord of the Rings online etc and are full glows and blooms, not just on light sources. They will not show up in any offline render engine (Lightworks, V-Ray or Virtualight) though. You can of course use them by saving your real-time render to file.

You can always do it in a post-processing app like Photoshop or After Effects. For instance, I use Sony Vegas. It's simple, just Render your image from model (for transparency) as either .TGA or .PNG (I'm sure there's more options, but I can't remember them). Import the file into your app, then double the layer, make the bottom one completely white, and add a Gaussian blur. works perfectly!:D |

And the CoolPowers series had a glow shader for Lightworks, and I believe all the CoolPowers are available for free download and use now (though I may be wrong there, can't recall). So there are ways to add the bloom / glow effect into offline renders, just they are not ways native to tS without an addition of something extra to get there :)

Ok Tom I finally found the options for the settings, however my question is why is there 2 windows? My controls for the glow and bloom were in a window that was almost hidden. It seems to me that Calagari does to much and does not simiplfy the work screen. I still do not get workspace and model space...Now what you told me eariler was that the effects are realtime. does that mean I cannont render my still image and the effects show up? |

Hmm has anybody else had any issues with the cool powers? I installed the plugin, howerver there was only 4 plugins, and they did not work right. The light plugin would create the light but the controls for the color or anything else does not work. There is alot of the effects missing like the bloom and glow. I wonder if it has issues with ts7? |

I just did a quick test; the "6.0" version of cp4 seems to mostly work alright. You'll find the bloom (and glow) effects under the Global Shaders, they're not on the plugin panel.
I'm tied up with dribble work right now but if you're still having trouble I can try and make an example later this week. |
