Hi folks.

I want to add an object to a character skeleton, but then detach it at a later time in the animation. How can I do this? It looks like currently, it's all or nothing: either have an object attached, or not.

Thanks,

Froo

Yes, its not possible to do this during an animation (basically you can't keyframe "this has a skeleton attached" which is more a creation issue than animation issue).

The solution would be just to save the scene twice, and render from each - so frames 0 to 100 you render from your skeletal animation scene, and from 101 to 200 you render from your non-skeletal scene (frame numbers made up here of course).

Not sure off the top of my head how you would "freeze" the skeletal pose without the skeleton, though I am thinking that would be possible.

Thanks!

Tom

Hi Tom. Thanks for responding. I think I miscommunicated.

Here's a link to what I 'meant' to say. I am basically doing what you have suggested; rendering separately the clips where the object is not attached to a bone, and then the clips where the object is attached to the bone.
