Although a few issues have been cleared up with the new version of vray 1.52, there are more issues to be resolved, and others appear to have been generated. The main issues lie with transparent materials. Take a look at the image below. The top row is 7.1 and earlier vray 1, the lower orw is 7.5 and vray 1.52. On the left, transparent shadow enabled, on the right, disabled (unticked box). The top is what I expect, with the lioght casting a colourless shadow until the transpareny shadows are enabled. Where is the shadow in the lower image. Alos, not that the refelction on the inner solid red sphere are inconsistent, as if the internal reflection vary. Finally, the "black band of legend", around the hollow sphere is not physically correct (and does not appear under lightworks). Given the addiitonal issue of the ineffective diffusion channel handling with vray 1.5, and the conflict between the worksapce and modelling implementations of vray, I'm sad to report that I'm reverting to my earlier version of truespace until the problems are ironed out.

Is there any word on a fix for transparent shadows issues in Vray? I have the latest version, 1.52 I think, and it is not working at all. I see others brought this bug up this up over 18 months ago.

No, this particular bug came up with the release of V-Ray 1.52 (which was not 18 months ago). People revert back to earlier V-Ray versions in fact to avoid the bug so it definitely has not been around that long.

Information on fixes is always held back until release is imminent.

HTH!
