-that you find by mistake and then lose them and now it's not the same aaggh :)

I had Workspace set up so that when mousing over an object the object's edges lit up and I could set the colour of the 'this is the object of your attention' object highlighting. Everything reset though the other day and rebuilding I can't find how to set up that highlighting function can anyone help please? I might have set that from the LE it's hiding

Huge amount of interesting Workspace display options, that function is very good. A function that's always been part of the Truespace sandbox I bet but new to me sorry, thanks for help

I can't guarantee I won't be back to ask about the curious behaviour of the Model/Workspace Area lights' objects (bulb, bulb fixed to a cube) which sometimes point one way and then they swap around from the scene disdainfully across the bridge. They obviously think I'm hopeless too. I'm being patronised by a 40 watt lamp :)

Supplementary sorry-

How to make area light objects visible please in Workspace?

No 'Invisible' field is ticked in the object's properties in the LE. I think I made them Invisible because otherwise they show up in Workspace animations - but I can't get them to show up now, the objects that show where the area light is, sometimes a bulb and sometimes a bulb with a cube attached. Many thanks in advance for tips!

After clicking in the LE for focus (from Daybe's post in the Area light noise thread)

Toolset icon Hammer and Spanner up by Library Panels Settings

Open Desktop Preferences

Wire Highlight select 'Objects'

Wire highlight that's it. Which leaves the barbed-wire object no place to hide

How to rename objects within the LE please? Objects and sub-objects so the changed name sits beside the orange DelveDeeper rectangle

I know how to create a compound group via Encapsulate in 3D and name it: is that a clue hmm

Thanks IA!

When you click on the title bar of the object in the LE, on the left, there is a tiny icon which is made of red, blue, and black bars. Click and hold that. Rename Object is an option. Select that option, then type the name in the box, and press Enter.

HTH!

That's very helpful yes Frootee thanks!

Those Area lights may be Invisible but I can work around that by selecting them in the LE now. Bring on TS8 :)
