Updated 7.5 manual chapters problem

Hmm,
The new 7.5 Manual patches seem to call for the version 7 manual (which would have to be re-installed)!
Which pdf does it update? |

To be honest, I just did the update for both chapters and all I had to do was make sure the instal was pointed to the correct directory. A typo on the last page saying it will open ts7 manual is pretty small potatoes. Did the install properly update your chapter1 & 3 for you? Once you updated, do the link to the tutorials work ok? |

Thanks for the quick response Norm,
Both patches failed because they couldn't find ts7_manual.html in my D:\Program Files\trueSpace75\tS\PDFMan directory
The reason is that I have ts75_manual.html in there.
...so it's the .exe that needs changing.
However, as the mail says, I can download the updated 75 pdf and the videos from the repeat download page
...which I did
I look forward to enjoying them when I'm not half asleep! (UK)
I'm excited about getting to grips with the new features of tS7.51 much more easily thanks to the videos.

I didn't have a lot of time to see if all links work, but I went to my directory and looked at the latest .wmv install dates.
I checked a few samples (including Hair Tools) and they seem to link fine.
PPS
The video links point to .wmvs in the /PDFMan directory on my local drive.
I assume that this is correct.
They weren't meant to point to .wmv's on the web (stream rather than d'l) were they.
Might be nice too! |

hmm ... anyone else having this problem? As I mentioned I downloaded and installed to my ts7.51 directory without any problem. I would not have had that html file either.
When did the error arise? After installing and at the last screen where the checkbox to run ts7 manual is located? If so try unchecking the checkbox and let the install finish.
Did your chapter1 and 3 get updated at all?
The only diff I can see happening is I did not ask it to run the ts manual after update; I was doing both ch1 & 3 in sequence. After that I went to my PDF directory and manually started the chapters from there and all was fine.
I asked office to have this looked at but I hate to see folks miss out on the changes even for another day :) I am confident the exe will be repaired and set up for download. |

Same error as Razzaq1 but both Chapters 1 and 3 did update ok and the videos do work when manual selection is made. My Manual PDF is also located on the D drive as is TS 7.51. |

Ok thanks for checking and reporting the scenario Steinie. Good to hear the manual was updated ok and everything else works. |

What I did was...
1) Recieved notification email from Caligari with links to Chapters 1 and 3
2) Downloaded the files to my hard drive
3) ran one of the .exe's
That's when the error dialog popped up.
4) Tried the other .exe
Same.
It didn't get to the 'run manual' screen.

You might have misundersood my answer. Using Windows Explorer I manually selected the files. |

Thanks for reply Robert. Is strange that happen. I will get on them again today to fix this so hopefully you could dl later today and it would work better for you.
I was hoping folks would comment on the new chapters and videos as being helpful :(
I suppose if you were to change the name of the html file so it was ts7, the install would find it and work. Could rename it afterwards. |

Last night I watched the videos in Chapter 1 and learned a few new things. What I found funny is how you pronounce Lasso "Las Sue" and not "Las So".
I reckon both are pert near right, spit on floor.
You are very clear in your presentation and it was easy to follow. I'll watch Chapter 3 videos over the weekend and get back to you, litt'le doggie! |
