Hi,

I just bought gamepak 1.6 and have several problems installing it.

First of all if I select a different installation drive it still installs in c:\truespace. Not very helpfull. I copied all the files to my truespace directory and manually added all the .tsx. So far so good.

Now when I start truespace I get the following two errors:

1. Simbiont.cfg config file not found. (there is none in no directory)

After that I guess it is connected to the error above I get.

2. No component DLLs found. Please check Simbiont.cfg for correct paths.

Am I missing anything? Do I need a copy of Darkmatter to use gamepak? Is something missing?

Please help.

How long does it normaly take to get a download link for Realm Crafter?

Best regards

Andreas

I'm having the same problem with GamePak. It's not suprising to me that no one has bothered to reply to you to tell you anything.

When I asked about GamePak and Truespace 7.5 all I got was that it should work with TS 7.51 and that a new version was going to be released this week. I have had no emails or seen anything of the sort.

It's a shame that things don't work properly and kind of annoying. The whole purpose of me buying Gamepak was because I could save models and maps to my Fav engine supported 3d formats.

That's not all. All 3D formats that GamePak supports have been updated except in the Gamepak. E.g would be the .b3d and .x for DX9 and DX10.

It's been months now and there is still no news on what's happening with the GamePak and Truespace 7.51.

The only reason for no reply is that no-one has seen the thread :) I hadn't seen this before today. This is why I always remind people with installation and technical issues to contact technical support via email, rather than just rely on a forum posting - it's guaranteed that every tech support email is seen, while on the forums sometimes things do not get seen. While people are welcome to post such questions to the forum, it is more useful (for the user having the problem) to send the report in by email.

Next, not sure why the drive letter would cause such issues, have raised that issue with out tech support department to see why installing to anotehr drive would cause a problem. As an aside, I am assuming your trueSpace installation was in fact on another drive - the install needs to go into the same place as your trueSpace is installed, but I am presuming you don't have trueSpace on C but on the other drive letter.

Next, Simbiont is unrelated to DarkMATTER. Simbiont is from DarkTree, and is a set of procedural shaders (and DarkMATTER is a collection of objects from the makers of DarkBASIC). The message just relates to the fact that the shader installations have not been updated since tS6.6 (they are from a third party company) and the new directory structure "confuses" the shaders on start up. They should still work fine though, plus this will have no effect on the core of gamePak, the import and export functions (they are there as an extra really, since you can't export procedural shaders to game models either - you can use them for texture generation though, to render out 2D images eg of a plane from overhead to use as texture maps on your objects). A check via email with customer support might uncover if moving a file or two into a different directory would remove the message you are seeing.

Realm Crafter shouldn't take more than a day or two, again if it is taking any longer than that, most definitely email our tech support so we can follow up with Solstar directly about your case.

HTH!

Best I can make of the situation is that ts7.51 is not going to install gamePak correctly. gamePak requires special build to install properly with ts7.51. It is most likely the other problems are associated with this as well. I am told a new install of gamePak is being worked on as we speak and that it will be released as soon as it is ready to go. In all honesty, don't try to fix any problems you might have at moment. Patience until the new gp install is ready and I am sure you will be notified. Sorry for the confusion folks, I hate to see folks getting frustrated over something that is beyond their control.

Hi,

finally an answer. For Realmcrafter I've got the download link by now and - it works. I've Truespace on drive D and copied everything gamespace installs in drive C to my installation drive into the truespace directory. Anyhow I am very busy at the moment an will wait for a version that works with TS 7.51. However a note about the problems to expect when buying this stuff would have been usefull.

Any news on a Gamepak 2.0?

If Gamepak 2.0 isn't ready yet and as I am paid owner of Gamepak can I get a serial key for Gamespace?
