It's doing it again it can't be me this time surely :)

I get textures done in Workspace and switch to Modelside to do some Glue As Sibling

When I come back to Workspace all the textures have gone missing and I have to reload the textured object. I'm not doing anything complicated.

I have the bridge set to on

What's the general fix for this please?

Peter

Peter have you tried using "Encapsulate in 3D" on Workspace side instead? I think there are some issues with the bridge and objects glued in Model side.

Thanks very much Jack! that sounds good will try that

Rich I know what you mean but as long as there's a fix it's not too bad and this fix sounds right. We've got 6.6 as a plugin so it's best to find Workspace solutions. I do want to hear about workarounds - from my own non-professional interest as long as it works eventually I'm ok and Workspace is too good to pick on :)

Before Jack replied I'd had textures go missing on sub-objects too but I can see that it's simple to Encapsulate objects I did it once and it worked. The fifth time ok but it did work lol and all the sub-objects are there within the renamed object from the LE

I finally got there knowing it could be done.

I found out more info on why the very long pauses every time I textured a sub-object

On the info line there was a mysterious line

TS was looking for an image that isn't on my machine... disks whirring nothing happening for ages

The file being looked for was:-

house_outside_pano_half_V3.jpg

-which is a file that would have been in the HDRI folder probably, as there's a similarly-named file in there

I have not used HDRIs since February when I first started investigating TrueSpace. Something bad happened.

If anyone else has this pausing and the BottomBarMin knickers showing that users should never see please tell me I'm not bonkers. Bit of a stretch ok fair enough :)

Anyway Modelside-bridging-Workspace-texturing is very optimistic and we'll leave it at that, it all got done that's the main thing and without bothering the Modelside work force. Character building laddie :)

LOL Rich. Whaddid I miss???!?!

Hehe, I've almost done it a few times too. Must've fixed it quick though 'cuz I didn't see it. ;)

Glad it helped Peter. The render looks really nice. I think with all that time put in, you're getting really good with VRay. :D
