Having a little trouble with TS 7.51 uv editor. All i need to do is uv map a cube so i can paint a texture for it in Photoshop. All I should have to do is drop a 1x1x1 cube in the scene open the uv editor then export the uv map.

However instead of getting the the uv map I expect (image on left) this is what i get instead (image on right). Any ideas or sugestions on what I'm doing wrong?

The workspace cube primitive has a different projection than the model side primitive. If you want a cube with the model side default projection, then create your cube on model side.

You can of course planar map each of the faces of the cube made in workspace and arrange the mapped faces to look like that in the UVE as well. But it's a lot easier to just use the cube primitive from model side. ;)

Also Workspace doesn't automatically register UV changes made in model side. So if you are going to do UV editing on model side, then you need to turn the bridge off, make your changes, turn the bridge back on, and choose "sync from model side" when prompted.

Thanks Jack. I thought I might have messed up something on the workspace side.

Nope, nothing wrong. Caligari just made a choice to do the UVs for the primitives a bit different in WS side. ;)

Glad I could help! BTW, if you get stuck or need help with the Workspace side UVE feel free to post, and I'll do what I can do to help you out.
