Does anybody other than madmouse use it? I was thinking of getting it and just wanted some user advice. It is easy for a UV freshman to learn? |

I have been using UUwrap 3d for around four years (I have recently upgraded to UU3D Pro) and IMHO its the easiest and most productive unwrapper around, just try the demo you should be able to tell if its for you or not.:)

i've used it and it is a good program, it makes uv mapping a lot easier to understand. |

Another big plus with it is all of the 3D formats it supports. So you get a nice uve tool and a decent import/export tool.

I completely agree with Rich. It's worth it just for the format conversion. It's also the best UV mapper I have for mechanical type objects because of the "Unfold from" tool which lets you unfold a model single face by single face to get ultimate precision.
For organic unwrapping, Headus is much faster and easier though. |

... and the fastest on-the-fly unwrapper is unfold3d :D |

Unfold 3D? I prefer to have the 25 seat Networking Wizard Edition Version 5.5 then. Very cheap ;) |

Unfold3d Fairy Edition is going for $292. Is it really that good?
Headus Hobbyist Edition is $200
Ultimate Unwrap 3D Pro is $60
UVMapper Professional 3.5 is $60 |

Dunno, Steinie... maybe they had to lower their prices to compete with Headus?
RJeff, don't forget there's also the free options of Blender and Roadkill (blender's UV unwrapping as a standalone) |

depends from the weak Dollar currently.
I think personally unfold3d is for those where time is money. Unfold3d neads less clicks for best or at least good results without many knowledge. Seam setting - unfold and packing happens automatically.
Sure unfold3d don't has tools like mirror detection or alike like headus pro. |

Jack do you have a link to roadkill? I went to the Blender web site, and they don't have it. I did a google search and all the links talk about it, but nobody has it. The only version I have scene is a Maya version. |
