I cant find the object I am working on in the workspace side in the perspective view. I don't know what happen. The object is still there as I can see it in the front, side, back & other views in workspace, its just lost inthe perspective view. Is there a way to zoom to fit a view to an object in TS7. I know there was a plug in for ver 6.6, but the plugins don't work in workspace side.

That happened to me once. I had made an object in another program and saved it as a old style cob file format.

When I brought it into Modeler, it showed up. When I switched to work space it didn't.

Once I saved the object to RSOBJ tS7 format and brought it back in, I could see it.

There is a Look at Selection tool in the Workspace. All though it does not Fit to View you should be able to hold the Shift key and scroll with the middle mouse wheel really fast to Zoom to Object. Also if the object is selected, double click on the middle mouse button activates the Look at Selection tool too. There is also Rectangle Zoom.

Can this be done? Select object in LE, then have an icon that relocates selected model to 0,0,0

This way when you select reset view, bingo.

In the Axes tools there is Normalize Location. This is dependent of the Object's axis. So say your object's axis is in the center of said object. With the object selected and then select Normalize Location, the object's center would relocate to 0, 0, 0. This is without showing Axis first other wise the Object's axis would relocate to 0, 0, 0.

Yes, I forgot about that. I thought there was a way. I had tried adding objects in perspective view so I could rotate around that object and also changing the ground tile count and the zoom scale, but in the end selecting the object in the front view and then going to the perspective view and double clicking on the middle mouse button centered the object in the view. But now I have a new problem. I can no longer zoom in or out in workspace side. I first thought this file might be corrupt, so I tried a new file, and still can not zoom in out out in workspace side. In model space I can zoom and rotate ok. I reinstalled truespace but that did not correct the problem. Is there a setting that will cause this to happen?? I reinstalled over the existing directory. I assume the next step is to install to a new directory in case there were some corrupted files that did not get overwritten with the reinstall.

The object was already located at 0,0. The problem as the view in perspective was all messed up. I could not find a way to re-set the view so that it was looking a o,o coodinates

I reinstalled ts to a new directory and it is working correctly. I reloaded this file but could not zoom in or out so I assume the file got corrupted and I decided to just delete it. It wasn't important anyway. Suggestion wise I would like to see a zoom window command with a way to save views like a lot of cad programs have. I would also like to have ways of drawing lines with snaps to create ploygons (similar to rhino3d or google sketchup).

Reset the Default Context would most likely fix this and other problems without having to reinstall. It is important to remove all files except for the ones you want to keep after uninstalling tS7. As for saving a view you could easily view from a Camera and save that Camera and or Scene. You may want to give Point Editing Snapping a whirl, I beleive it is similar to Sketchup. I have never lost Zooming capibilities so not sure what happen there. Couple things you could try is switch back and forth to different layouts. I assume that you are clicking in the 3D view before Zooming or Reseting View. Title bar should highlight when that view is active. Infact most tools in Workspace require that the 3D view be active in order for tools to work.

I don't know if this has anything to do with the zoom problem or not but its seems to have happened again but this time in the model space side. It may be that I just don't understand something. I created a few objects, and then

was expermenting with the View from Object tool (that looks like a camera). I selected the camera object and then selected the view from object icon to look from the camera. With camera active I can zoom and pan ok. When I select the perspective icon again I can pan but do not seem to be able to zoom in or out. If I try rotating my mouse wheel, no matter how many times I rotate it the view does not zoom in or out. I switch to workspace side and do the same (select the look from object icon, i can zoom and pan ok, I select the perspective view icon again (while still in workspace) and I can pan & zoom ok. I switch back to model space again. I try to zoom in or out but cannot. I select the view from object icon and I can pan and zoom ok, but not from the prespective view. Am I missing something??

That has happened to me sometimes. I usually just save all my objects, then start a new scene and import the objects back into it.

When you switch to perspective view is the camera still selected?
Can you observe the camera in perspective view while you attempt to zoom? What, if anything, does it do?
Can you open a small view window, set it to view from the camera object, and then try zooming in the perspective view.
What happens?
