Just testing fire particles again. I think it needs some work. the scene is not closed to being finished, as I haven't used any good maps for the buildings and added finishing touches etc.
Still have to make the saucer fly, spin out of control, burst into flames, etc. :)
Anyway, a flash (SWF) file of a very short crash and burn sequence. Next to add smoke. I love On2 Flix Pro technology, makes small swf files from wmv. :) (about 1/4 the file size) |

The ufo crash will be cool. I think a few windows on the building and a better ground texture will help the scene a lot. Just my 2 cents. |

Added some objects and moved some things.
Need to redo a lot of textures (get rid of those giant bricks and add some bump to them.)
Anyway, probably won't be animated anytime soon as there is a lot of basic work that needs to be done. Still no windows, but they are on the list. |

Some more work on the Toon House. The more I change it, the more I want to change things. :)
Changed the brick texture to one more of quarried stone block. Added some windows, they don't look right may change them. :)
Textured the grass a bit.
Sort of a daybreak at Curly's scene...or at least an outside light left on. |

I liked the contrast of the red brick better. I think the grey brick makes the image look a little washed out. That's just my opinion though. Would be cool to see some displacement mapping on the surfaces to liven them up. Do you have dribble? It does a great job. I think its shaping up nice. |

Another cheesey video from the underling master of video cheese. :)
Just a rework of the Devil's Tower scene. Camera shots are hard! :(
Will eventually splice other points of view in there and eventually get a fly over to the toon house scene. Any way, having fun with the process.
Bring your own crackers, the cheese is on me. :D |

Interesting work James. Lighting looks good and texturing on mountain is very detailed.
The saucer movements look jerky so you might want to try tweaking the FCurves in the animation editor to get more of a spline based motion.
Might want to also consider environment mapping or HDRI on the saucers to give them something interesting to reflect.

Here's my late scene for the contest. I know it doesn't count - heh.
But felt guilty not entering something. It still needs a lot of work - lot of errors and some stuff moved on me. :) |

I think it looks good James. Maybe Steinie'll let it count. It's not *that* late considering the 2 month deadline. ;)
Heck I didn't even have time to get an entry started this time... :( |

Way cool James.. loved the 'cheesy' video too (went great with the triscuits)
Much better than all the crummy stuff on tv just lately - looking forward to the update with Curly's Curios included :D |

No one is winning by default and JamesMc had an entry in the whole time. I said all along the WIP is important for a monthly contest. All final decisions or feelings can be in the voters hands not mine. JamesMc nice rendering is in. If he wins Dribble I hope he lets me know who he feels should get it and I will make it happen. |

I like this scene with the building on that landscape. Pretty neat looking. I just voted on the contest and didnt see james' entry listed. Was he too late?
Edit: I see it on there now. Don't know how I missed it. I already voted though. Sorry James. |

Curly getting buzzed by the pesky alien space craft. :D
It was just a fun thing to do, wasn't really serious about the contest as I was busy learning things. :) |

Hmmm, it is missing...
I nudged the terrain plane and I think it got buried. :)
But it would make an interesting scene.. fire hydrant caught in a beam and gushing water. :) |

Very nice James. Good work.
The way I had read it is, the aliens from planet Raviola came here and stole our water- hydrant to quench their thirst cuz their raviolis were too hot back home. Hmm... I need sleep.
BTW... thanx for the 'cheese' :) |
