Hello
Trying to break my rut by doing something pure fun. Here is my nutty bot. I will model him some pals. Gonna give him a rig too, made him all seperate parts so he's easy to rig.
Well feel free to love or hate him. He was fun to make. |

If he lives on hotdogs his hands are developed and ready!:D I think animating this one would be fun. I like his blue arm sections the most. |

NICE! I like the way you used the extruding to make the head. The electric arms are good too. |

Thanks folks
And the emmy goes to..... nutty bot. Good thing I got that shot of him on the red carpet to give to the press.
I changed his hands so he can clamp things other than hot dogs. I think he looks better now.
He is real simple but I like him. |

I pretty much have him rigged. I have to mess with the joint limits some more to get him to move right, but the rigging went smoothly.
Here he is striking a little pose. |

LOL!
Those are a scream!:)
I would have preferred "Rock and Roll Hoochie Coo" as the music clip for breakbot myself, he looks like he could use a dose of Rick Derringer music to loosen him right up!:D

Fun stuff, well done!

I spent all day yesterday tweaking this bit. I think I have it to a point I'm satisfied with and will move on to adding more dance moves now. So here he is so far:

What took the longest time was working around the bone stretch bug but I managed to overcome it. I think this bit works out pretty well. |

I can't seem to view your Quicktime movies in IE or Mozilla Firefox.
I have the latest Quicktime, 7.2XX.
It crashes my browser every time I try to view it. |

Thanks trueblue. Not Vray, its a realtime render, not bad huh?
I attached a wmv of it for you james. The quality is not as good but at least you can see it. Quicktime plugin is quirky on windows, i can view most things but then sometimes for some reason it doesnt like a movie and it wont open. It is part of apples plan to take over the world. Muahahahahaha. |

NOW I know why his head is that shape! Really cool and worth repeated views! Had me laughing. |

Definitely some fun happening here. If it was a bit longer I bet it could be an animation contest entry winner... ;) |

haha! funny. :)
Thanks for the WMV.. It's peculiar, I can open some MOV's, but others crash. I've re-installed browsers and quicktime to no avail. |

Thanks. That's just the first 1/3 of the dance routine. Also there will be a setting. And I plan on entering to the gallery when finished :) |

That looks very cool, good job! It would be neat to have the blue parts of his arms and legs animated to look like there is a current going through them.
At the risk of getting off topic, what do you mean by real time renderer? Is that just the basic type that comes with TS? |

Thanks
A realtime render is when you use the save to file icon and it makes an image of your workspace window just as it is. It is different than other renders such as vray because all the settings are viewed in actual time as you work. So when you set antialiasing in the window that is the antialiasing for your render. All the settings are the textures and settings in the panels that you see happen real time. |

Ask and you shall recieve.
Here is the nutty bot model:
http://www.3dfrog.com/wips/forums/nuttybot.RsObj
If you try to animate him I warn you that the bone stretching bug affects this model badly and takes a lot of tweaking the ik handles to correct the bone stretch. I can't wait for 7.6 :) |

I cant believe that it took me this long to look at your nutty bot. Now I have I'm really impressed, especially with his break dancing. Really fun and really well executed. Makes me want to try my hand at animating.
Keep 'em coming matey.
