lol, I dont know what made me wanna make this image, but I dont care cos I have rarely been getting any inspiration heh. Having issues with Displacements because I need to Subdivide the plane im using more however it crashes my computer heh, also I think the bridge or something is effecting the material on the mirror as it is not showing any reflections. Also need to add a frame around the mirror. Lots of texturing still to do plus I want all the taps to be running and the room beginning to flood.
The story is that a skull like face is coming through the mirror with cracks around him, its not working too well at the moment but ill figure it out heh.
Let me know what u think so far |

Flushingly spooky!
I would put in some spooky lights (orange glow) and black toilet paper. :D |

Work on the lighting more, put drains in the sinks, maybe do some softpaint on the skeleton. The focal length of the camera is distorting but also adds a disturbing feeling. I think the lighting needs the most work. Really cool keep it going. |

Interesting image you've got going there Matt. It reminds me of a horror film but I cant remember which one. Keep 'em coming.

Thanks, I havent decided on the lighting yet, it has to be realistic and at the moment there are 3 area lights simulating strip lights.

I was about to put drains in the sinks heh, Im still unsure about the skeleton, I think ill try and render a height map from a 3D skull I have and work from that. I think the length of the camera still needs adjusting, I want to go with a very disturbing angle (to get a sort of German Expressionist look).

yes it may remind you of Frightners by Peter Jackson, I watched it years ago and the idea has always been with me, however only recently (with the release of TS7) have I been able to use tools such as Displacement Mapping.

Thanks for your comments guys, im also wondering whether to make this an animation, I would be interested to know the possibility of animating the displacement, I believe it is possible via a tool someone made, ill have a search for it. |

just to say that I havent forgotten about this project, I have been very ill for the past few days and also very busy with the starting of my second year at University. We are being pushed very hard in learning to animate characters in Maya and its proving rather challenging, so far of course i have yet to see how it is better than TS7.51's character animation system heh. Ill have an update up soon as long as I can fiure out why Dribble keeps crashing all the time!!! heh |

Give the skull a beard and some longer hair and it it'll look just like my bathroom mirror first thing in the morning! Scarey stuff, not for the squeamish!
I like the concept you've got here Matski - good idea, worth working on.
ps: Hope your health is better |
