The main black part took less than two hours. I was having fun so I just went ahead and finessed it a bit afterwards with a faceplate.
I think I made that pretty clear, but people may have judged it on the whole thing I guess.
I don't mind being disqualified - it's just a forum challenge.
I misread your post, or rather didn't pay enough attention to it. It's a good looking fan, and I didn't realize you were saying that the faceplate version took longer.
Maybe next time if someone wants to go on and finish a piece or add more details, they should post in a seperate thread like Prodigy did with his watch a few contests ago. That way the two won't be confused.
Good fan anyway transient. To be honest, my favorite parts are the blades. :)

That's cool. I'll play by the rules next time.:o
By the looks of things Jack has won by miles anyway. I also liked Hemulin's entry as it was elegant, yet simple. I'm surprised it hasn't scored more votes. |

Yeah I'm surprised that Hemulin's didn't score more votes too. Nez's was pretty amazing too for 1.5 hours. Would've like to have seen a better close up of the wires.
I'm hoping to win, I've got a cool idea for the next challenge that will put the new Workspace modeling tools to good use. ;)
Thanks for the votes! :)

I was kinda hoping for one vote...I mean I know it sucks compared to some of the others but 1 vote isn't asking for much I don't think...
I was gonna vote for myself but that would have been sad... |

Wow, thanks! Coming from you, that's high praise to my ears!
I'll try to get a close up if I can get TS to co-operate -it's struggling with the file due to the polycount. The top was definitely the best bit - quality suffered for the bottom portion as the end of my lunch break was approaching!
I really liked Hemulin's too - a very classy design, but the realism on yours is awesome, really makes me wish for a TS upgrade and VRay...
Assuming you win, I look forward to seeing what you come up with for the next challenge. |

@Brotherx - I thought your entry was fine, especially considering you did the whole thing including rendering in 90 minutes.
I honestly don't think anybody sucked at all. Everyone had their own take on things which was cool. |

Thanks. But compared to some of the others, well, they are in a different class.
Maybe next time :) |

I thought yours was good too Brotherx!
To me, that's part of the fun of these challenges. Forces you to learn new ways of doing things while practicing and all under a time constraint.
Good job everyone by the way :)

My vote went for transient, I thought it was a very original design. |

Thanks Nez, I can see why you ran out of time on the pole part. I'm a pretty slow modeler so that would've taken me quite a while to get that much detail in. You know if you texture it up nice, you can probably put it up on TurboSquid. ;)
