Following Prodigy's example, with his "Images From Prodigy" thread and after reading opiejuan's post (http://forums1.caligari.com/truespace/showpost.php?p=49507&postcount=31), I thought of showing some of my unfinished renders, that never got sent to the gallery.

I have more images and I may upload them tomorrow. For now, check these out. I showed most of them to the people in the #trueSpace channel, but as I'm not a "forum person", I neglected to post them here. Besides, 3D is a hobby for me and I usually start a project only to drop it after a few days of work, then months pass by before I add something to it. |

Some lovely work there Accu, I see where you are coming from regarding quality of work lately, yours obviously have a great deal of work put into them in terms of lighting and texture. They have a certain 'old school' charm about them but I imagine that a few put through Vray or latest LW would scrub up very nicely indeed. Not that they necessarily need it...:D
I enjoyed looking at these...reminded me of the sort of stuff used for Caligari PR around the time of tS4...:D |

I really don't think I put enough work into texturing/lighting. All I seem to do is model and when I get to texturing, I take a break. Most of the times, I don't finish the models.
Even though I have tS7.11 (won it), I'm sticking to tS6.6 and I don't have VRay, so my future scenes will still have the 'old school' look.
Reading the Caligallery (http://forums1.caligari.com/truespace/showthread.php?t=4226) thread, I started thinking that I could send some of these images to the gallery, even though they look like they are from the tS4 era. :D
Found another render of one of my contraptions (this one's big, to show the details).
http://img152.imageshack.us/img152/1036/fd3km.th.jpg (http://img152.imageshack.us/my.php?image=fd3km.jpg)
If anyone wants to demolish my renders, laugh at them, tell me they're crap, go ahead. :)
If anyone wants to ask a question or to give some advice, go ahead. |

I really like the trike. You should most definitely enter these in the monthlies.

In this context, Accu, 'Old School' was a compliment...:D
Ever thought of using 7.11 just for it's HDRI abilities?
The UI in model side is identical to tS6.6, I designed every icon as a 're-imagining' of the existing UI so it is very familiar. When I first used tS7.1 I imported a lot of scenes and re-rendered using the new engine.
It would help a lot of those metal frame type renders to look even more realistic.
Just a thought...:D |

Great modeling and a keen eye for detail. I agree with Splinters that since you are after realism rendering these with HDR in 7.1 will create some even more stunning beauties!

The first image in my second post is rendered in tS7.11 with my own HDRI. The contraption is composed into a photo. That's what I tried with the first image in the first post, but by using tS6.6 only.
I know tS7.11 has tS6.6 built-in, but the stand-alone one is more stable and faster (eats less memory, etc). That's why I use it.
I'm glad you all like my renders. I'll pick a few to send to the gallery. Maybe I'll do something with my current wip too.
Here it is - http://img469.imageshack.us/img469/2489/0919crnf0.th.jpg (http://img469.imageshack.us/my.php?image=0919crnf0.jpg) - Not a lot of geometry, more textures and light. |

Lovely stuff Accu, It's good to see some of your old pieces again.
I remember the discussions as you struggled with some of those :) |

More lovely work Accu but I can't help noticing on that subway image that is does look like it has been rendered with an older engine, that and the cleanliness that would never exist even in a brand new subway. Would be fun to see this with some GI and grunge either in Vray or Dribble...:D |

hah, when I saw that subway pic last night on IRC I thought it was a photo reference.
Now, I was tired, and looking at it again it's fairly easy to spot the texturing issues (repeating and some unlikely tile structure on the stairs), but great job with the lighting! |

I guess the point of my newest wip is to learn how to create good (and dirty) materials. I still have a lot of work ahead of me. The lighting in that scene comes from a radiosity solution. I'll try Dribble when I get v1.01.
Till then, I have a few more old renders to show.

Very nice work accu! You have some wonderfully imagined and whimsical vehicles there.
All technical issues aside - what version, HDRI and so on - it's clear you have a unique and creative vision. Mark me down as impressed! |
