Well, I reckon the 16th is now over whatever timexzone you're in, so really must call it a day, as far as the voting is concerned. Hope those folks who didn't finish decide to carry on and do some more work on their characters anyway.
In case you don't remember where to find the entry WIPs (not that difficult) links provided below.
Dragneye's Dragon (http://forums1.caligari.com/truespace/showthread.php?t=5410&page=7) - NB see page 7 (post 70) for the 'beauty render', not the final image on p8!
Jayr's Aelric the Outcast (http://forums1.caligari.com/truespace/showthread.php?t=5312&page=2)
Jack's airship pilot (http://forums1.caligari.com/truespace/showthread.php?t=5520&page=3)
Dragneye's Roboetta (http://forums1.caligari.com/truespace/showthread.php?t=5484)
Good luck to all of you! |

Well, I appreciate the compliment Jack but I've had enough hosting MMCs for the moment, so I certainly don't want to end up holding the next one! Especially with such a low take-up on this one :D
It's time for someone else to take the reins for a bit - that's not to say I might not try to win them back...
Besides, I'm not convinced it deserves a win - I didn't really push myself much beyond my existing boundaries in the process. I mean, my sds work was a bit better than before, but it's mostly quite simple parts and 'mechanical' (obviously!) so quite simple as a modelling exercise - and the materials were definitely not advanced - mostly plain shaders, no texture work... (my jet was much more sophisticated texture-wise).
If I'd actually got my head round UVs and had a good go at rusting/grunging him up (or attempted something organic) he might have been worthy as that would have been pushing myself into new territory properly :D But hopefully I'll get round to that at some point... I'm still pretty pleased with how he turned out and it's started me thinking about a whole host of 'bots.... |

ALRIIGGHHTTT! It's over! lol (feel like that Nez?) :D
Thanx guys for makin me feel ok abt the post work. Yes, postwork is inevitable I guess, but... ok, whatever.
So... C'mon folks! Get into the next one will ya? Use it as training, use it as inspiration, or just changing tracks on whatever you may be working on at the time. For example, doing this dragon helped me work out some issues on another project I am working on, so it probably will be better than if I hadn't entered this. Trust me, I know about 'not enough time', but if you gonna create somtin in the next month or so, ta daaaa,,, lol.
Good work guys. I'm going to keep on with my thread, because the problem I encountered with the rig I also found on the other project I'm working on. Needs to be resolved to figure out what I'm doin wrong. |

Great work guys. I thought all the models were good, though each for a different reason. Difficult one to call this month. Good luck to you all. |

well I finally remembered to come back and see how it turned out!:o Not exactly prolific voting, but a clear result at least!
Well done Dragneye! Here's the baton, take it away, please!
Looking forward to seeing what you come up with and hope we can get a few more folks interested too. |

Thanx jamesmc.
I'm Really with you on that one James!. I tried to actually have it end by the end of the month, so, we'll see how it goes. Otherwise, the dates Really become fluid. It doesn't necessarily bother me either way, but like Nez can attest, it starts to become unfair to the 'baton holder' after a while. |
