Hi folks. It's been awhile since I actually created something. Not sure how much more work I have time for before Halloween. I may try to add a landscape with more stuff outside the Great Hall. This is a conglomeration of items donated by folks for Halloween, along with stuff from earlier versions of truespace.
Here are the instructions for sound and special effects:
IMPORTANT FOR SOUND EFFECTS TO WORK:
When you download and decompress this, make sure you either extract the folder to the C:\ drive, or move the folder to the C:\ drive. The path will be this:
C:\halloweensounds
Inside this folder are the sound effects, and the haunted house scene itself.
Be sure to crank up the volume!
This is a FPN (First Person Navigation_ scene, so walk around the house. To activate the sound and special effects, step on the discs in the floor. Some effects last a couple seconds, so when you hear the sound, stop moving and look around!
If you have any problems please post here!
Enjoy and, Happy Halloween! |

How fun thanks Frootee! FYI: When you create sound objects the wav files are stored within the Sound Object. So it is not necessary include your sound files in addition to the scene. I tested your scene without extracting the Wav files and it worked fine. HTH. |

Thanks Trueblue! I'm glad you enjoyed it! I have always wanted to do that, for several years. Now I finally can!
So I can updated my instructions then.
The buttons in the LE indicated that it would be saved, but then when I looked deeper, it seemed that they still referenced the wave file. So just in case, I kept the instructions. I should have tested that....
Thanks!

This being Halloween and all, just wanted to let you know this is still up for grabs! Today is the perfect day to get this haunted house and run around in FPN!
BTW... there is also a copy over in the Scriptorium. So maybe some folks can get together and have some fun together over there! Haunted Houses are always much more fun when you go with a friend!
Tip:
When you get there, go Inside the house first, while Not in FPN. You will know you are at the right spot when you see the axes a long way in front of you.
Make sure your audio is on. Crank it up! :)
Then Activate FPN, and step on the trigger. Step on the other triggers as well; you'll be in for a treat!
Happy Halloween!

No problem Prodigy.
The haunted house is still there in the scriptorium if you want to go!
