I'm trying to save an object but I keep getting the message..'Renderer busy, please try later.' The thing is I'm not rendering anything and Ive been waiting ages. Can't I stop this mysterious render?

The one time I got this I had to end-task on TrueSpace. I lost the latest updates to my scene. Fortunatly I had not done too much since the last save. I would certantly love to hear a better solution though.

Uh Oooooh!

Nope! You lose! You can try waiting it out but be prepared to retire first. It doesn't act like it but tS is stuck. Ctrl/Alt/Del and end task and lose hopefully not too much work.

If you have something like a multi layered texture on an object with some if-y geometry or several really HUGE texture images used in your scene or a lot of transparency, and you are working in solid render mode and especially with bump maps and procedural textures enabled in your display options this tS halting error can occur. My guess is it's memory related.

I got quite a lot of "Renderer busy, please try later." messages while working with tS6.6. When you want to save an object, tS renders it in order to make the thumbnail. If the renderer is frozen or broken in some way, you get that message. When this happens, it usually saves the object without the thumbnail. I don't remember losing objects because of that. You could also try saving the whole scene somewhere - it doesn't need the renderer when saving a scene. After that, you just close tS, close the following error message, start it again and go on with the object/scene.
