I have been expermenting to see if I can draw a car wheel using nurbs.

I have a question about painting portions of the nurb object. When you extrude a nurb edge it uses the default paint material color. The openings of the wheel has some of them in a dark color and they were created by having the default color (material) as the dark brown when thery were extruded from their edges. That fine but I want to change some of the other to this color also. I have been able to change some by selecting the nurbs edge and using the paint over existing material tool. (See second image). But it only changes some of them. When I try the some process on the other remaining edges it changes the color of the whole object.

I believe all the openings were created the same way. Any ideas as to why the rest will not change material color.

Hi ahembree, nice looking wheel cover!

You should be able to navigate hierarchy of the object. I usually go into edit
mode first so it's easier to see what's selected. Then press down arrow on
keyboard, then left or right keys till subobject is selected and then just use
paint tool.

Thanks. That does the trick. I wasn't aware of the use of the left and right arrow keys. Though that you could only use up and down arrow keys.
