I am trying to find someone who has an old copy of, Bitmap Genesis lying around, not being used. I'd be willing to purchase it if your looking to get rid of it. I had the program many years ago, and had learn to use it beyond its intended design. It was great for creating strange worlds. I lost my copy. Let me know if your interested. Thanks |

Hi 3drunner,
Apparently the Binary Reality website no longer exists (breal.com) or is just being parked for a while.
I did locate Bitmap Genesis 2.0 in two online downloadable zipfiles for you though, they are over in China... go figure! ;)
Anyhow... here's the link, but note that this is the DEMO version here.

Hope this helps...

The China link is for the demo version. Found that a while back. Thanks for the return. The breal website has been down for a long time. The only way to get the program now is to find someone who currently has it and is willing to part with it, or willing to copy it (did I say copy?). Right about now, I'll take it even in copy form. Even trueScape is no longer for sale. Thanks again. |

Have you checked into truedisplacement?
http://ckgamefactory.hp.infoseek.co.jp/tsxe/truedisp.html
Not sure if its what you're looking for but it is a plugin to displace surfaces with pixel info from an image. |

Thanks for the suggestion, but I already have trueDisplacement. Bitmap Genesis was a complete world builder. It generated the landscape, textured it, placed trees and rocks, generated water and sky. It was great for one-stop-shopping for easy-to-build worlds. It's still out there somewhere, and I'll keep searching. Thanks for the reply. |

I never tried out Bitmap Genesis, so I wondered if it was a TSX or only a standalone application? |

v1.0 was a stand-alone program, but it saved the worlds out in trueSpace scene format. v2.0 was a tsx. It was a very good piece of software. |
