I promise I searched high and low and also in here before asking/spamming
Where did my Render panel go please? To set Vray renderer options and so on
I see where it should be and I know it's there somewhere but for the life of me... grr so embarrassing it's like getting your mother to tie your shoes. Before an international audience :)
Everything else- gorgeous and lots sorted out already with your er, desperately needed help in here :)
TIA

Hi Peter, Did you already try right-clicking on the render button? It should then appear on your right hand side. I'm also a relative beginner and was always looking for this panel too.;) |

Thanks Burisman yes I right-click the Render Scene button (Render, Render To File etc) but nothing happens at right. Nothing happens at all. I see the Libraries panel at right and down left sometimes but still a mystery
Here's a shot

Heya!
Make sure you have Tools selected in the library stack, (highlighted in red in image below) that's where the render options panel will be. It's the icon that looks like a wrench. Or a spanner, for our friends across the pond. :)
Hope that helps! |

Ta Scotty I did that and nothing happened mate
Some underlying structure to how to get at all options must be in there but it's very hard going, I've got 20 days still to assess my purchase and I've checked the manual searched in here and tried hard but it's hours and hours of frustration just to find out where the lock is on the boot. This side of the pond :)
Here's what happens when I select the spanner [edit: or the icon beside it as here, exactly the same result]

I've had this happen before too. Not sure what I did to fix it exactly. You may try changing render engines from the file->preferences tab and see if you can bring up a panel that way. |

Thanks very much Prof for that temporary workaround, now Vray is selected and the options can wait until Norm sorts something out for me - thanks again Norm!

Hi in the stack you may want to check if the bridge is on , if its off then the panels will not show in the stack for the model window due to them needing the bridge to pass the information.
if you switch the stack to preferences tab , there is a menu in the title bar which will allow to open the desktop preferences.
you can switch this to on and synchronise from the desired window, player or model.
thanks

Big thanks to you Paul for sorting this out by phone, yes you'd spotted that my Player and Model windows were not synchronised/bridged, I'd turned off the bridge the other day thinking that as a new user I didn't need a bridge to 6.6 and earlier versions, thought I was saving CPU cycles/resources but the bridge is a welcome layer of support for earlier versions and forward to DX10 maybe
Re-enabling the bridge allowed me to right-click on Render Scene and see those Render settings again
Excellent tech support from Caligari yet again, very much appreciated Paul and Norm too and thread-collaborators :)
Moral for new users: on encountering a problem send up a screenshot to the support forums it's worth 1000 words. No one thousand decimal words not eight :)

Hi,
I have a little problem with rendering too. In my old vesion 5 we had 8 bottons in the Renderoptions toolbar. One of them - the first - was for the selection for final render on screen or to file. Now with the version 7.1 I can not find this botton anywhere. The manual says it is existing - but where??
A little bit help would great.
Thanks to all

I opened up the ? panel that shows all the icons, found the Render Scene icon and set a Hotkey there to F5. Quicker than the icon way too :)
We'll find out where it went soon but for now that should help you

We are talking about two different icons. The render scene and the render scene to file icon are there, but the icon I'm talking about is in the toolbar (or should be there) where you can set the renderoptions like anti alias an so on. the "?" has shown me the command but not the icon which should be leftside of it - there is only empty space :-(( |

You need the whole toolbar here. For me it is in the toolbar menu (left hand side) choose 'render' and it should pop up where it belongs. Hope this helps. his is for setting render options.
View aspect bar from the same flyout menu should give you the 'tiny top tool bar' as it is now known where you have the render to file etc. You can always load a bigger one in...;) |

Good morning,
thanks to Peter and Splinters for the help. Unfortunately the problem is still there:( .
I get the Aspect view with 5 icons
- Area Render
- Render object
- Render Scene
- Render Scene to File
- Texture Baking
I get also the Render-Options-Toolbar with 7 icons
- Render Quality
- Raycast - Scanline
- Anti Alias
- Raytracing
- FG-Effects
- BG-Effects
- PP-Effects
In the Version 5 I had 1 more icon there for the final rendering
- Render to Screen - Render to File - Render to Preview (for Animation)
In the TS7 I dont have this icons, but their description can be found in the Artists Guide on page 574.
What please am I doing wrong here:confused: ??
Thank to all

You are not doing anything wrong. As far as I can see the three icons in question are missing. If you are in Default layout and have the Stack opened and if you Right click the Render icon you will see more additional options in the Stack as shown in screen shot.
It has been suggested that when you are having techincal difficulties, you are better served if you call Caligari's Tech support. They sometimes do not see each and every post here. |

I did find the Render to Preview. Open the Icon finder in the Help menu and Ctrl + Drag it onto the desktop. If you right click the icon you will see options for it as well. See screen shot. |
