Started blocking out my latest scene so thought I'd share the progress. Much to be done and this time I'm doing a bit of a Madmouse - I'm leaving a key ingredient out until nearer the end to, hopefully, give it a bit of an "oh, now it makes sense" type feel!

I think you've done a fine job so far!
Only thing I can see to point out is perhaps too much light in the foreground (almost like the wall behind the camera's view is missing and that light is filling in). I think if that was all darker, it would maybe enhance the feeling of the scene, and force focus more toward the door area... or whatever winds up being in that part of the scene.
Hope that makes sense. |

Like how this is starting out for sure. To me the coat hanger seems abit out of place. Or maybe it does not match the rest of the scene. |

Hmmn! Mad Witch? Wicked Mouse Of The Web? Either way my intriguing bits are all feeling intrigued :D What's coming through that door? A cave troll? Bird in a Lamborghini? Whatever it is I'll be looking forward to this project unfolding.... |

Which bit of me where you planning to do
:) If it is a bit of you then there will be questions...
love your plasticine style there on the coat stand
That's a fair cop Paul! Even as a temp for blocking out the scene it was pretty shockingly bad. I hang my head in shame at letting it out. :)
I think I know where you are going with this
Really? How close were you? I'd be interested to hear what you were expecting (might send this in a totally different direction!)
I've decided to scrap the holding something back idea, would rather have proper feedback than tease y'all. Soooooo, here it be with the assassin or saviour in place. Unless anyone spots anything that needs addressing I guess I should throw some textures at it and see how that looks.

The foreground seems a bit empty still... Maybe put one of those wire wastebaskets there to kinda fill it out without loosing the stuff farther away?
maybe like this one?

or even one with straight sides

looking nice kate. Is it just me or does the top of the leg look a little too bent up? I don't know. The gun angle looks better now. I still would like a bigger scarier gun, but all guns are scary. Is the final gonna stay black and white? I like the black and white. I don't know if the scene needs more objects, the focus on the woman seems very good as it is.
Keep up the great work :) |

Ah.....Now I see...its my legs.
Is it just me or does the top of the leg look a little too bent up? Nope not just you, the leg looks a little kinky (and not in a good way:D)
Other than being a little on the dark side, everything is looking good Kate. |

add the textures but keep it black and white, it's got a really cool 'film noir' humphrey bogart feel to it like this. |

I like the black and white too...really brings out the suspense of the crack of light in the door way. |

I think a little light spilling in through the doorway would help, and toning down the shine on the pistol. But it is looking pretty good. |

ths pistol is a bit bright, i always thought Desert Eagles were bigger than that as well, but she could be a big woman and i am basing the size on movies... |

Spent some time tweaking the leg. Is this better?
The gun is just a stock model. I will be making my own to go in it's place so that no one can say it's too big or small. I have no idea how big the Eagle model I used should be so I hold my hands up to that faux pas!
There will be scrap paper, spilled files, general debris (not decided yet) in the space but nothing bulky or detracting.

Well cool Kate! I like the ambiguity of the title. I also agree with the comments about the monochrome look this has pre-texturing - it's a powerful image as it is without textures! I'd be tempted to throw in a more defined beam of light from the door which would enhance the "Sin City" look it has.
Looking forward to seeing how this pans out - are you going to actually answer the title question or sustain the mystery and leave us wondering? |

This has been bugging me for awhile and I had to debate if I should say anything or not. There is still one part of the leg that looks wrong to me. To me the area between the arrows should be almost a straight line. I tested this on a small area of your work. Hope you don't mind.
A very nice piece of work is developing and I hope this helps improve the image. |

Thanks Steinie. Looking at it with fresh eyes I can see the leg is still far from right. I think I'm going to have to abandon trying to fine tune the MakeHuman leg, get some reference pics, bite the bullet and make my own from scratch. Damn!
answer the title question - Sure. Is she there to save you or finish you off? |

had to debate if I should say anything or not - forgot to say, don't hold off, that's the point of asking for crits!
Here's how it stands at close of play today, including an all new leg!

Haha! Yeah, it's still active. I've been a bit busy with other things and have to be in the right frame of mind for working on this. As it's now all workspace based (daren't cross the bridge, too much texturing to lose now) and there's no layers and it's generally slower in response anyway it's taking an age to navigate and finish off because I stop when I start getting irritated so as not to make daft mistakes.
Hopefully soon but no promises. :-) |

I like the "dispatch" on the door. If it were a cab company or something, then It just wouldn't have the same impact :D
once you scatter the files around, this will look very good indeed! |

It's coming along wonderfully WickedWitchOTW.
I would like to say though... I disagree with kena. Last night, um, ok, early this morning, I had a wicked time getting a taxi. I was sitting in the... Dispatch Room... waiting for any driver to show up.
I could have used her Very much, while I was fuming in there
