Hello. First of all, I want to thank everyone who has replied to my threads over the past several weeks on various subjects. I hope one day I will have the same mastery of Truespace.

Question: I want to create an object that looks like a sheet of cloth. I want to drape this cloth on another object, and give the cloth the appearance that it is sagging or it has a dip. A good example would be a covered wagon. A sheet is pulled over the frame, and in between the frames, it sags. I figure I could use the deform function. Am I in the right area?

Hi Chome,

I usually just do those kind of things manually. Enter point edit mode select your verts and move them to make the folds and sag.

With 7.5, soft selection makes the task a lot easier, but it's still doable in 5.2.

Just use the orthographic views to help you limit your movement to only two directions and use the rectangular select tool to highlight rows at a time to make the job go faster.

Best of luck!
