Well, I guess now is as good a time as ever to dive into the secrets of the LE. But at first sight it looks rather forbidding. I fiddled around a bit, but hitherto the concept partly escapes me, especially the use of the bezier curves to link, ... what exactly?? Used to scripting languages like Flash's Action Script i can see that it is build around the concept of object orientation, and it looks very clever. The 7.5 manual doesn't give a comprehensive treatment of the link editor. There are some bits and pieces in the forums, but I haven't discovered the information that tells me where to start and what to do. Have I missed it? At one place the manual refers to the "developers guide", what's that? I can not find any more references to this developers guide, nor can I find the guide itself. Are there any comprehensive tutorials? Roman's otherwise excellent Spirit of the Interface doesn't touch upon the LE either.

Any suggestions would be much appreciated.

My fourth animation is rendering while I am typing this. Brilliant tools, the combination of dopesheet and FCurve is very powerful to tweak the pace and dynamics of the animation! Working on an historical educational multimedia project has really shifted into high gear after downloading TS 7.5. But I lost some time making fun with Crazy Bob :D ... poor guy.

I would suggest that you read the Activities Chapter. Also explore all of the content in the Libraries. Look and see how things are exported and linked together.

Hey TrueBlue, thanks for the suggestion and the link to the developers guide. I somehow missed the significance of the 'Activities' Chapter (I suppose I associated the word 'activities' with some other way to pass the time). Your suggestion to have a deconstructive look at things in the library is also quite valuable. I will try as soon as my animation has fully rendered - it now blocks all other TS activity  . Quite amazing how you unearthed the link to the developers guide, I suppose it will be quite useful for other users stumbling upon the reference in the user manual. Cheers!

Not a problem at all! Another way to find such things is use the Search feature in the banner above. Looking at examples is how I learn to this day. If you decide to try scripting I recommend that you try the jScript Macro Recorder. Record some of your actions and look over the script that is created. trueSpace7 is a command driven UI. There is two ways that you can record your actions one is when something is selected and one when nothing is selected. Try it and see the difference in the script. Not all things are recorded but is a very valuable tool.

Thanks again TrueBlue. I must say that your remark just made me aware of the presence of the search facility :o .

I will certainly use the Macro Recorder, learning by studying the process and good examples is a great way to make progress, I fully agree with you.

Thanks for your time and trouble :)
