OK, this may seem like a silly question... but how do I stop mirror modelling? After all, there may be times when I want to mirror model up to a certain point, and then introduce differences into the mesh afterwards. But I can't seem to find an option to no longer be in mirror model mode. It seems that if I go to Model side and enter point edit mode, that turns it off, but is there a more direct way?

You have to use the Flatten history icon.

This is also how you make things like SDS and the auto normal mapping permanent. It also should work with my morpher script to extract a morphed mesh at its current position.
