Hi, Iam discovering the incredible power of the LE. Wow. I was wondering ... I have the random engine script hooked up to a sphere's radius input ... it makes the sphere changes its dimensions randomly. I was wondering how to key frame this action? Thanks .... :)

Select your sphere and right click in the animation window, then select "keying panel" at the bottom of the pop-up menu. Then click on the radius value.

You should be able to record keys for the radius then.

Let me know if that doesn't solve it for you! ;)

Hi Jack, Thanks for your help. Iam doing as you mention but once I START THE TIMER in the LE then go to the ANIMATION panel of the OBJECT the ENGINE STOPS. I go up to KEYING PANEL as you mention but since the ENGINE has stopped the object is not being deformed be the engine there is nothing for me to keyframe. I must be missing something simple. Thanks....

Hi All, anybody have any additional input on how to keyframe movement and scaling while using the ENGINE script in the LE. The power of this  is very exciting, but I can not figure it out. Thanks

If I get some time, I'll see if I can rig this and come up with a solution for you tomorrow.

Hmm... seems like there's something basic missing here. I think there may be a way to write a hack using the physics engine to drive the random engine, but let me ask around and get back to you on this one...

Maybe someone else can post a solution in the meantime... ;)

Okay thanks to ProfK, I have a solution for you. ProfK indicated that it still needs a bit of work and it's definitely a hack....but here goes:

1.) Create a dummy object. Key frame a position change for the dummy object.

2.) Link that position change into a WatchDog event object.

3.) link the control out from the WatchDog event object to the ControlIn on the Random Engine.

Not perfect, but that should get you what you're looking for.

For more serious animation, I'd key the radius changes manually by hand and then tweak their animation curves.

Hi, Thanks for your info on how to keyframe animation via using the ENGINE in the LE. Seems pretty complicated. Anybody else have other ways of doing this. Seems like it would be something very useful since it seems it would be very powerful to able to do this.
