I have carefully made a skeletin and attached it to my mannikin skin. Before moving it, I set the upright pose (left) as the default. Then I began to move it and when I clicked on Reset Pose, it bent backwards at the waste (right).

Besides rebooting, I tried deleting the joint at the waste and re-creating it. I checked that the joint limits were reasonable. I moved the mannikin into a different pose and re-Set Pose As Default. Nothing works. It always snaps to the same back-bent pose (which includes one distorted foot). Painful for me and the mannikin.

Thanks for any clues.

You can set default poses for each joint, so if you have a specific joint selected it will only set the default pose for just that joint. Could that be what you're seeing?

To set the default pose for the whole skeleton, have the skeleton selected but no joint active.

I had this problem aswell i fixed it by whenever i wanted to reset to default i just grabbed everything and made sure that it was mostly facing forwards, and it seemed to work so i presume it takes the position of the skeleton and resets to a certain boundary of some sort... but if they are all facing forwards or near there origional position anyway it seems to work for me.

Thanks for the replies. I finally decided to back up to the original parts of the mannikin (which I had saved) and reconnect everything and build a new skeletin. Now it all works, so I suspect something was corrupted.

Different John Howard. It was probably the Prime Minister of Australia - you know how politicians are - always fishing for votes.
