Attempting the first tS7.51 tutorial, I discovered the following:

Whereas the (previously swept) end faces of the object scaled as expected, reducing both y and z axes of those faces, when scaling the (previously swept) upper faces (both being selected), these scaled as expected in the y direction but not in the x direction.

Instead, it appears that the x-direction scaling acts upon an area enclosing both selected faces.. thus drawing in the outer edges and the inner edges of these faces toward the center of the enclosing 'rectangle' .. In effect, the two faces are dragged toward each other instead of reducing the x-dimension of each face.

Is there a setting which needs to be changed? or is it not possible to scale two faces located in the same plane simultaneously?

Here's an illustration:

Unfortunately, this is a limitation with the PE tools in 7.51. :(

In your example here, using mirror modeler will solve your problem, but that doesn't help for other cases where you need to scale multiple surfaces simultaneously.

@ Roman - and I'm sure that will be just one of many excellent developments - I look forward to 7.6 with great anticipation!

I'm very impressed with the way this community and the Caligari team responds even to newbie users like me! :)
